LAFC FISHING LESSONS

With our award-winning fishing lessons, affectionately named Love at First Catch, you'll get hooked on your first catch. We've won prestigious awards from the Southeastern Regional Conference of Fishermen and an award of dedication and honor from Fishing for the Future. Our most recent award was given to us in early 2022 from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Coservation Commission! Taught by certified instuctors (some of whom were former classroom teachers), we bring the same energy from the classroom to the water. Named after the Shaw's description of what they felt when they first met each other (love at first sight), we want to give you that same feeling with fishing. So whether you've never fished before, or want to improve your skills and gain experience, AFL is the perfect place to discover your love for fishing — all at the first catch.

Lesson Packages

NOTE: Single-person bookings may be grouped together depending on instructor availability.

Single-Person: Beginner ($250)

This course teaches the basics of fishing, including the different hardware needed for a great experience, the rules and regulations of fishing (specifically in Florida), and the techniques of throwing and reeling a line in. A fishing license is included in the package price. The beginner track includes one 2-hour lesson per week for 6 weeks (12 contact hours).

Single-Person: Experienced ($350)

This advanced course builds on our beginner track and teaches students the best ways to bait fish, how to fish in freshwater versus saltwater, and provides hands-on experience with handling, cleaning, and dissecting different types of fish, and other methods of fishing for different animals. A fishing license is included if not previously enrolled in our beginner course. The experienced track provides two 3-hour lessons per week for 5 weeks (30 contact hours).

Group: Beginner ($139.99/person)

This course is identical to our single-person beginner course, but is catered to groups of up to 30 people. Minimum 4 people. Fishing licenses are included at a discount of $1.00 per person. Group beginner classes are only offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Please see dates, times, and locations below for more details. We require you to book at least one month in advance for larger groups.

Group: Experienced ($249.99/person)

This course is identical to our single-person experienced course, but is catered to groups of up to 30 people. Minimum 4 people. Fishing licenses are included at a discount of $1.00 per person. Group experienced classes are only offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Please see dates, times, and locations below for more details. We require you to book at least one month in advance for larger groups.

What to Expect & Liability Waiver

On lesson days, please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class time to ensure you are prepared. Group Classes of 15 people or more must arrive at least 15 minutes prior. Your instructor will meet you at the specified location (see package options above) with any gear rentals you requested.
